Kayastha surnames

The Kayastha Community in India is spread thin into various states. The easiest identification is the last (surname) name. However, over the period, many new names have evolved. 
We attempt, here, to provide an exhaustive list of surnames etc. being used by Kayasthas in various states {we’d like to put on record that the list appearing here under may have some missing family names.   16. I came across the following Kayastha Surnames
    1. Lal - Bihar
    2. Verma - Bihar
    3. Pershad - Bihar
    4. I know about Andhra Pradesh. I doubt any kayasthas are with surname as Reddy, Rao or Raju. Reddy is a powerful political and farming community and they cannot be considered as Kayasthas. Rao is a very common name does not indicate any community or sect All communities have this name. Raju is commonly used by Kshatriyas but a few persons from other communities also use as Raju.

  17. I have doubts about Nair and Pillai being in kayastha community in Tamil Nadu. First, they are from Kerala and secondly not kayastha. Please verify.

  20. Bihiyar , nandu, patsakar , chakarvarty and mohanti and mahanty does not belong to oriya karanas it's completely wrong the title spelling is mohanty and other two with ending in I and starting with MA belongs to different castes. First get it all
    Even in bengali kayasthas you mixed all reli and sonar and every caste title's. Only five Ghosh, Guha , Bose ,Basu and some sarkar not all belongs to it and some Datta not Dutta are actually kayasthas. Sarkar also belongs to other castes and do also Datta. You have put the titles of different obc and sc and st together in kayasthas list first correct it.

  27. my name is Omar Ebrahim Nadkar and I'm a member of the South African generation of Nadkars. We are descendant from a little village called Sunglot on the mountains close ot Khed, Maharashtra. I have taken on the task of compiling our family tree and I have encountered a few dead-ends. does anyone know how I may access a database of the Nadkar family in any way or perhaps recommend other avenues I may pursue.     Please take extra precaution when prepare. This is count as document in future and also it is help kids to pass correct information.
    Need to remember half knowledge bis dangerous for any one .

  30. Great effort. Most of the comments given above seem to be correct like Ambastha not being mentioned in Bihar and Ghosh, Datta, Bose and Sarkar in Bengal. Corrections need to be done taking these recommendations.

  32. I think in south india only karuneegar or karan or karnam are only kayasthas . They are karna kayastha. Naidu , pillai , mudaliyar caste people are different i think 🤔. Author sir can you please tell me how naidu and other south castes belongs to kayastha ?? Please reply me sir 👍🏼

  33. Sir both Chakraborty and Samajpati are brhamin titles. My title is Samajpati and I am brhamin. Also my grandfather title is Chakraborty he is also brhamin.
